Message from the Chair
The mission of the Mayor's Advisory Committee on the Judiciary is to identify for the Mayor highly-qualified candidates for appointment to the benches of the Criminal, Family and Civil Courts of the City of New York. Experience teaches that excellent judges come from varied backgrounds and professional experiences. Indeed, the demands of the busy city courts require men and women with qualities of scholarship, commitment, wisdom, temperament and life experience that can be developed in both defense and prosecution practice; in trial and appellate practice; in legal administrative and policy positions and judicial clerkships. The committee welcomes applications from candidates whose experience in practice has developed high-quality legal skill, excellent judgment and a commitment to justice. The Mayor's Committee is working hard to ensure that the screening and selection process is both efficient and fair. Interested applicants should contact the Mayor's Advisory Committee on the Judiciary for further information.

Zachary W. Carter
Chair
