Bus Rapid Transit

Cities around the world have increased bus speeds and reliability by using Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), a system of dedicated bus lanes and other improvements that give buses priority on the streets and streamline the process of boarding a bus.

New York City Transit and DOT are beginning to lay the groundwork for a BRT network across New York City, complete with links to subways, ferries, and major destinations. The first generation of BRT in NYC is called Select Bus Service. NYCT and DOT invite the public to take part in interactive workshops and provide feedback on where new BRT routes should be established and how they should operate. Buses

Public buses in New York City are operated by NYC Transit, a division of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). Get more information on bus routes and schedules. Other Mass Transit
