How to Apply for IT Jobs
The Citywide IT Jobs board is a listing
of open positions throughout City Agencies.
Before applying, please read the following
instructions.
Recruitment Process:
- Jobs are posted on this site until
they are filled.
- Do not send your resume multiple times
unless your contact information, experience,
or education changes.
- Agency hiring managers may contact
you directly either via telephone or e-mail.
- Only submit a resume against a posted
position. A resume is evaluated and reviewed
for a particular position.
How to apply for Citywide
IT Jobs:
Please follow the instructions on the
vacancy notice as to how and where you
should submit your resume.
Sending Your Resume via e-mail:
- When applying for an Agency position,
follow the specific instructions provided
in the job advertisement as, each agency
may have different instructions or requirements.
Resumes must be sent to the specified
e-mail address or mailing address in the
posting.
You may submit your resume electronically
as an attachment in MS Word XP, Word 2000,
or Word 97. Note: We do not accept
zip files, html files, links to resumes,
or any resumes with animation.
- Place the Office Title and JVN code
that you are applying for in the Subject
line of your e-mail. In your cover letter,
please note your salary expectations for
the particular position you are applying
for, as well as your eligibility to work
in the United States.
- If you are a Staffing Service interested
in placing individuals within any City
Agency, please do not submit resumes to
the agencies. You must first become part
of our vendor database. Please enroll
in the City of New York's vendor
database.
